Curriculum

The academic program at CornerStone Christian Academy is well rounded and challenging. CornerStone students consistently score above state and national averages on standardized tests.

The curriculum at CornerStone Christian Academy strongly emphasizes math, grammar and reading. Our curriculum and educational materials are carefully reviewed and prayerfully selected to ensure healthy spiritual development and academic quality.

Along with our curriculum comes a core group of specialty areas taught at the academy that aide in the development of our student’s educational path.

Music:

Music is based on the appreciation of speech, song, instrumental play and creative dramatics.

Physical Education:

P.E. is a sequential development of physical fitness through basic and creative movement. The concepts of sportsmanship, the mastery of rules and rule following are implemented for skills development.

Computers:

Students participate in a hands-on laboratory setting, with each student working on an individual computer. Beginning computer terminology and keyboarding are emphasized.

Library:

Weekly library time is planned to instill a love for reading for pleasure and for study. Students check out books, participate in activities designed for the enrichment and understanding of both the library and classroom.

Art:

Weekly art time is designed to give students an appreciation for art and artists throughout history. Students will apply techniques and processes learned using various media.

Spanish:

Students are taught the Spanish language from the very first week of Kindergarten continuing throughout their elementary and middle school career at CornerStone. We believe learning a second language fosters a love for language and opens the imagination to the richness of other cultures.
